Sabreforce Tournament Rules

Required Equipment:
Fencing helmet or Hema headgear. Does not require the overlay
required for steel competition.
Hockey, Lacrosse or Hema gloves.

Recommended Equipment:
Shin guards
Knee protection
Elbow guards

For competitors who have an issue with bruises:
Full Hockey or Hema gear:
Torso, shoulder, thighs.

Weapons:
Sparring sabres with Heavy duelling blades up to 32 inches in
length.
No hilts with extra protuberance, spikes or handles.
Competitors are welcome to use their own equipment pending
an inspection but use them at their own risk. We will not take
any responsibility for damage to property.
Stunt sabers will be available for competitors.

Judges decisions are final.

Bouts go to 10 points with a time limit of 3 minutes. If the
allotted time limit runs out the competitor with the most points
wins.

Scoring:
2 points for contact.
4 points for contact to the head or torso.
1 point for contact with an afterblow. (An afterblow is a strike
delivered immediately after being struck.)
0 points for a double (A double is both opponents striking
simultaneously.) There is no elimination for doubling.

Thrusts and lateral strikes are permitted using reasonable force.

manner causing potential injury or exhibiting unsportsmanlike
